Baby Ethan

A challenge submission for Method Playground. This time it was a monochromatic theme.

Photobucket

I chose green for this challenge. Partly coz the photo had 2 major colors - pink and green. And I wanted the pink parts (baby) to stand out. So green had to be the color.

I took the monochromatic part fairly seriously and had all shades of green. No other colors. To make it more interesting, I used different textures and kept it simple. There is a garden-y feel to it - a hark back to the more "natural" way we come to this earth.

For matting, I used 2 different toned cardstock and 1 green patterned paper. Like the effect of it, against the dull and subtle patterned paper as my background.

I layered the Prima flowers with Hambly overlay and secured it all with a K&Co brad. The chipboard swirl was painted with acrylic paint and I further glazed it with a copper tinge and applied crackle accent to it (Not obvious in the photo). The leaves are cut out of K&Co pattern paper.

Am toying with the idea of adding more to the LO but with the hubby (who is a HUGE proponent of different colors and contrasting colors) liking the LO as is, I thought I'd just leave it alone. I left out the journalling on the sticker coz I didn't want to lose the BABY on it by having writing all over it.

TFL!

Nice layout and sweet picture of baby Ethan. If only they would stay that little just a bit longer...
