Easter egg

I joined in the fun at Made With Love for their Easter Egg scrapping competition. But I didn't have time to go down with the egg this weekend as I was on call. Weekdays were too iffy and I didn't dare bring the egg to work and back coz I'm such a clutz. So the dateline has been missed but I had lots of fun making it! Although, a number of eggs have been crushed by these hands and lots of glitter spilt (and spread around the entire house, even on baby!)

Supplies:
1. Glitter
2. Stickles
3. Making Memories Acrylic paint
4. Making Memories fibre
5. Maya Road Sheer Flower
6. Butterfly stickers (brandless)
7. Kaiser Craft Bling
8. Handmade butterfly embellishment - Tres Jolie PP, Stickles, Copper wire

You make my heart go whrr..

This was my submission for the BackPorchMemories GDT contest.

This is one of the first times I actually used mostly 1 manufacturer's products. This one is mostly KaiserCraft. With a touch of Cosmo Cricket and MM.

Photobucket

Photobucket

I matted and doodled (something I have never done before) my photo on cardstock and cut it out. Stuck 2 strips of CC pp on the left and bottom of the photo.

Photobucket

I cut out the cogs and wheels and assembled them on the the right side of the LO and embellished them with brads. I also cut out smaller cogs and wheels for the layered embellishments on the centre. I used eyelets to fix them together and to the LO. Proceeded to place eyelets all around the perimeter ot the rest of the LO.

Photobucket

Since I had the MM paper punch out I made a small line of holes on the top and bottom of the photo to thread copper colored wires through.

Photobucket

Then I cut out the robot from KC pp. Further embellished with glitter glue, Rain Dots from Cloud 9 and KC stickers.

You make my heart go whrrr3

The journalling is hidden so as not to make the LO too cluttered. Punched holes along the entire periphery of the card and joined the holes with glitter glue. The title was from a journalling card from CC.

You make life that much brighter

One of my fastest LOs. Used a sketch at The Mosy Scrapper. Finished in under 2 hours!

Photoshopped a series of photos of baby - to obtain a "aged" photo look. So as not to compete with the bright colors of the LO.

Used a 72nd Street overlay for the title. And used a scrap of Crate paper to back it. Matted the photos with green cardstock.

Supplies:
1. Pattern paper: Prima, Pink Paisley
2. Overlay: 72nd Street (MME)
3. Prima IOD tape
4. Autumn Leaves Rhonna Farrer journalling chipboard
5. American craft rubon
6. Prima flowers
7. Heidi Grace plastic flowers
8. Kaiser craft flower bling

Baby Ethan

A challenge submission for Method Playground. This time it was a monochromatic theme.

Photobucket

I chose green for this challenge. Partly coz the photo had 2 major colors - pink and green. And I wanted the pink parts (baby) to stand out. So green had to be the color.

I took the monochromatic part fairly seriously and had all shades of green. No other colors. To make it more interesting, I used different textures and kept it simple. There is a garden-y feel to it - a hark back to the more "natural" way we come to this earth.

Photobucket

For matting, I used 2 different toned cardstock and 1 green patterned paper. Like the effect of it, against the dull and subtle patterned paper as my background.

Photobucket

I layered the Prima flowers with Hambly overlay and secured it all with a K&Co brad. The chipboard swirl was painted with acrylic paint and I further glazed it with a copper tinge and applied crackle accent to it (Not obvious in the photo). The leaves are cut out of K&Co pattern paper.

Photobucket

Am toying with the idea of adding more to the LO but with the hubby (who is a HUGE proponent of different colors and contrasting colors) liking the LO as is, I thought I'd just leave it alone. I left out the journalling on the sticker coz I didn't want to lose the BABY on it by having writing all over it.

Remembering

I have never been one to keep journals. I never know what to write and am at a loss for words.

Journalling is intrinsic to scrapbooking in a way. And it is through scrapbooking that I began to blog.

You know how you think you'd never forget significant events in your life? Well, you never forget them but the feelings, emotions and intensity of the event will inevitably get watered down with time. I find this especially so when I was looking back on my blog entries. Even though I did not pour out all my emotions into them, but by re-reading the entries, I do relive the events again.

Now I hope to do a bit more journalling to capture those emotions and all. Hopefully when I look back I can remember more.

Personalised fonts!

I must admit that I love typing out my journalling for the main reason that there's a little OCD in me that likes my things to be neat and "square". I like my centred journalling to be dead centre and balanced on both sides etc. So imagine how elated I was when I came across this - www.yourfonts.com and it's free! Now just to find time to do my own fonts.
