Have been into making my own flowers recently. It's both satisfying and cheap! LOL!

Made all 3 of the flowers here!

The brown rope is from a Laine's Paper bag!

Have been very busy and have been sick along with the kid. A lot of people have asked for tutorials on the various flowers that I've made and I would very much love to oblige but I've got too much on my plate at this point in time. Sorry. But perhaps next year, I'll put together some tutorials!

I used Texture Paste and a Anna Griffin template, then Glimmer Misted it. I inked the green cardstock and used it as a border. Rick Rack is tucked under the Lily Bee die cut.

A quick post of a layout I did using this sketch.

I splattered acrylic pain mixed with glimmer mist on the cardstock and ran my MR chipboard (negative) through my sizzix for embossing and inked it. (Behind the small butterfly on the right hand side.

One thing I love about cards is that it uses the little odds and ends you may have. This is even easier to put together if they are from a kit!

Cracked into another of my stashed away sets. I really love Cosmo Cricket (especially their Early Bird line colors!) Whipped up something relatively fast especially since there was not much planning to it!

Did a little altering with the stickers - trimmed down to size and popped them up.

Of late, I've been rather pressed for time. Between scrapping and blogging, I'd rather scrap. But yet it really does come pretty much hand in hand since I'm on DTs. Scrapping is pretty much my outlet these days. It reminds me how lucky I am as I actually pause to think about the photos and what I want to journal. It allows me to go through the photos of my family and remember how far we have come!

Am looking forward to my wescrap package! It's my first actual kit!

Really should hit the bed - on call again tomorrow...

This is another of those layouts which turned out vastly different from what I had in mind initially! I plan my layouts on the way home in my head and sometimes, I remember the materials differently in my head. Teehee...

I have to admit that this kind of colors and patterns aren't what I usually work with.

I popped up some of the waves after cutting it out - for depth and added stickles.

Then I cut up some Bo Bunny flower petals and used them as water droplets - with stickles again.

And combined them with transparent Rain Dots.

Added some journalling and a title! Ran out of "S" so used a 5 instead...

Sketchy Thursdays 11.5

I really love Sketchy Thursdays!
Simple sketches which are open to a whole variety of interpretations! And yet not so simple that the layout looks "unfinished"!

Here's my take on the 11.5 sketch.

I'm sure you know how necessity is the mother of invention. Even as as child, I loved the labeller - the old fashion one where you had to squeeze the letters out. But I've too many scrapbook wants and compromises have to be made. So I got a really cheap labeller from the stationery shop and cut a piece of cardstock and labelled away! Ink to make the words more visible and TADAH!

The challenge was : Scrap a layout of your favourite photo ( can be any thing or any one), and share the story behind it. (that means journal).

I have a lot of photos which are favorites for various reasons. This photo was taken on my wedding day at church with my sister. What's there not to love?! LOL!

Here I tried my hand at a more freestyle kind of way. Layered the flowers, cut up stickers... I even glossy accented the lamp post for a 3D feel of the lamp.

For Butterfly Craft Challenge 22!

Did this layout for Butterfly Crafts Challenge 22.

Was in a scraps and recycling mode here. The marquee is a Jenni Bowlin Studios packing which I painted lime green. The leaves were negatives of chipboard scrolls that I collected. The base of the layout was Prima packaging. Only the flowers were "new"!

The challenge was : If you could be any character in any TV show or film, who would you be and why? Would you choose someone who's character you relate to or someone who is a total opposite to yourself?

I struggled a little with this challenge as this thought had NEVER crossed my mind. So in the end, I relented and told it as is.

Journalling: I do love watching TV. But I've never wished to be someone I'm not. I've never wanted to be a TV character. Partly I feel they are imaginary and also I guess I'm happy being myself, accepting my life. I'm really happy being just me!

Are there times where you do a layout and you just aren't pleased with it but have no idea why? This is one such layout.

Nothing really wong with it. Just rather uninpired kind of layout. I think it has to do with too much white space that is too evenly distributed IYKWIM...

May consider taking it apart and redoing it.

Do you put up layouts that you don't really like on your blog? I'm in 2 minds about it - since I've done it, why not but yet it's not a very good "sales pitch" is it? LOL!
Otherwise, I love the little border and using the left overs of my American Craft Thickers...

Been meaning to scrap this photo for a while but keep forgetting. It's a photo of the little one with DH in the background both with the same posture and look on their face! LOL! 2 peas in a pod, right?

Farm Visit 1

My GDT work for Memorable Seasons!

We took a really long drive out to the Kranji area to visit Bollywood Veggies, a vegetable farm which has an attached cafe. It was a really long ride but it was worth it! The food was good, the ambience rustic and of course there was great company!

In this layout, I played around with a few handmade embellishments for the flowers and tried my hand at quilling. I must say that it was quite fun and I am actually thinking of doing more of it!

The photos are double matted - first matted on Kraft paper and then placed on OA patterned paper and matted again. The alphas were Stickled to make them stand out more against the Kraft paper.

There is hidden journalling here. I love the journalling cards from OA because they are just soooo cute!
